Seed
by
Rusty Broadspear

A myriad of
microscopic rainbows
Flail and fly in frantic moments
As the fragile crystal bursts wide open.
A poignant, cheerless spectacle.
Head hanging as I leave,
I quietly close the door.
Days of void followed.
Deep panic in the forest of gloom.
Drained of tears.
Then - painful, hopeful moments,
Like receiving Cupid's darts..........
Inspiration and realization!
A shard of crystal, is embedded, in my heart.
Imperceptibly pulsating, radiating
Trust and expectation.
Only a shard,
A fragment of optimism, a seed.........
Is all I need.
