Wanting More

By

Rusty Broadspear

So much in awe, the very nature of this man was irresistible, compelling,

His words, his stance, captured me in a trance that was propelling

Me onto other planes. His intellect, wisdom and logic were inspiring.

Needed to withdraw for I wanted more, found myself enquiring,

Thirsting for his genius.

Tonight I sit alone and smoke the cigar that he would have enjoyed,

Because today is a special day for us. Feeling destroyed but buoyed

With cozy, comforting memories. The scent of cigar takes me so deep

Into the realms of bygone. If, later on, I put the clamps on elusive sleep,

Then any dreams are dedicated to him -

My Father.
