Dust

by

Sandra Wilson

Dust likes me.
It comes into my house quietly
And just lies there.
It seems comfortable
Where it settles
On my things.
Dust likes best
To be undisturbed
So I'm careful.
Sometimes, I don't notice dust at all!
I forget it's there!
Until the sun shines.
Dust likes me
No matter what my mood,
It keeps coming back!
These days I bother it less.
And - you know?
I do miss dust when it goes
However briefly.
