A Fallen Dream

by

Sara Rarick

I felt you fall beyond my reach, to a place where our love could never exist.

And with you, I watched my soul follow along, for I had no use of it if I could

not share my life with you.

That bad feeling I had felt turned out to be a premonition of my biggest fear...

And I could do nothing to prevent it.

The prolonged emptiness I feel is not what I envisioned for our beautiful future.

I walk alone, clinging to the hope that fate will eventually bring us back together,

and give the chance we almost had back to us.

With regret I can't let go, I cry myself to sleep each night, waiting for my demise

to come and bring me to where I can find you.

But I already feel dead without you here to hold.
