Desecrate

by

Sara Rarick

Tears of burgundy stained glass roll down the face of every family
Homes destroyed and lying in rubble...
dust still unsettled strays low in the air like smog,
choking the shocked survivors.
Dead bodies lay strewn under piles of garbage.
They never knew until it hit them.
The sky was clear and beautiful one moment...
and the next blotted with loud flying machines.
Then the sky fell.
Whistling demons slammed into the earth all about
and huge eruptions occurred..
A happy village now homeless with no hope or understanding.
Every mind wondering the same thing,
what did we do to ever deserve this?
Their innocence was pure... why must people suffer such devastation?
