Era of Euphoria

by

Sara Rarick

Time rewind to lesser troubles

to a time of love, life, and peace.

Smiles were true and never forced.

Laughter was pure enjoyment.

Entertainment was innocent and kind.

Friend and family valued finer things.

Death happened only after years of youth

were lived to the fullest.

Battles never broke out because everyone

was each others neighbor and cared for

each shining soul.

Greatness was in grasp, a possibility and not

a distant dream.

And he was there…

his beautiful face imprinted into my heart,

never far away from my arms was he.

And when his strong limbs embraced me,

everything was fine and life could not

possibly have been any better.

His voice was a soothing lullaby to

my ears that made me melt inside each

time I heard his porcelain lips whisper

those three words like a soft breeze.

His smile was brighter than a moon,

and I could never resist to smile back,

even when in the darkest of moods.

And darling, I don’t know what will come

with death or where we may go after life…

but with you by my side, dying does not worry me.

My one wish is that wherever we both end up,

our love will never die,

and always we will continue on,

hand in hand forever long.
