The story that lies beneath the surface
hidden by layers of flames
and perception of it identity
obscured by billowing smoke
into a dark night where sky is hidden from
view that can only be reached by a brave soul
but on this night of doom
all souls lain under the earth, cowering
depending on protection, blind to the truth
but it was all disguised
with one beautiful lie
