His Heart

by

Sara Rarick

Grasping my pentagram
walking blindly forward
the skies crying down on me
as i follow nothing
going nowhere.
Searching for comfort I know is gone.
It numbs my body
my mind is blank
save for the one thing I desire
the one thing I don't deserve.
The cravings don't vanish
They don't disappear into tine invisible particles
like the way you vanished from my sight.
Trying to forget your touch...
it's harder than I expected.
I hear your voice when the rain hits the leaves.
Splashing into pieces that will eventually evaporate,
Just like the way we did.
One day there
the next day there's no freaking trace.
Not a single god damn reason to care.
As I lift my face above
holding my head high
facing the truth with remorse.
But hey, it was fun while it lasted.
Crazy and random, like you.
Intoxicated by the light in your eyes...
When our eyes met... enticing smiles held so many of our secrets.
Gone now... as dead as this world around me.
I only know one truth since leaving you behind
You won't be here tomorrow...
