Inner Tumult

by

Sara Rarick

Ghosts of yesterday,
hopes of tomorrow,
and disappointments of today.
Same routine repeats time after time,
meshes together into one big blur.
Locked inside such a numb body,
with a burning soul and a tortured mind.
No escape that I can devise.
Not even beauty can save me now, so lost in this prosaic state.
I'm crying inside I'm so alone.
Passed around like a peace pipe.
Impurity inhaled into the body
and exhaled like dirty little secrets.
An outlet to your pain.
Take a moment to cleanse your soul
and elucidate your clouded mind.
Does anyone notice the natural beauties left in this world?
I want to experience something new and real.
If you saw life from my eyes you would experience reality from an entirely altered perception.
