Last Breath
by
Sara Rarick

I’ll save the last breath for you.
Days pass and still your face lingers in my mind.
Your voice spins around in my ears.
Words that you spoke haunt my saner thoughts.
You broke me right in half,
but I still miss you more than you could ever know.
My last breath is still saved for you…
Everything I do, it seems I do it because of you.
I’ve been so sad and lonely since you left,
and all I have left with me are the memories.
It’s been killing me inside,
since I knew you couldn’t give a fuck about how I feel.
Still, I’m saving my last breath for you.
I sacrificed everything for you,
everything except my morality.
Even though I know you were wrong in everything you did to me,
after everything you said to me,
I’ll still save my last breath for you.
I’ll save the last breath for you.
I’m saving my last breath….
