Adam's Punishment

Men have to
till the hard ground
And to milk the lowing cattle
And to catch the slippery fish
And to trap the wild ducks and fowls
And to keep domestic animals
And to man the factory machines
And to sell goods in foreign lands
All because the inquisitive Eve
Lured Adam to test the forbidden fruit!
In accordance with the Ten Commandments
We harvest the punishment of Adam
Because God punishes those who sin
As well as their descendants
Down to the third and fourth generation!
