Running Free

by

Suzy Kim

I run.
My hooves dig the ground as I run.
The wind blows through my mane as I run.
I look to the front.
I look to the left.
I look to the right.
I shall never look to the back as I run.
I run because I am made to run.
I shall never run like a dog running on a leash.
I shall run freely.
I shall run with no human upon my back.
Never within fencing,
Never within the orders of a master,
Never a slave to anyone or anything but the call of the wild,
Shall I run.
I run freely and hard because I am made to do so.
