Ending

by

T L Taylor

Softly crying, crying softly;

Hardly a sound.

Screaming, yelling, always something

Pulling us 'round.

Crying softly, softly crying;

Not really aware.

You did this, you did that

You treat me so unfair.

Softly crying, crying softly;

Just like a misty dawn.

Anger, hatred, wanting to kill

Now all is deathly calm.

Crying softly, softly crying;

Wondering how

Tenderness, joy and love

Are nowhere now

Softly crying, crying softly

Feeling really small.

Begging, pleading, desperately trying

You don’t hear my call.

Crying softly, softly crying

Better morrow.

Thinking, should I be blamed

For your sorrow?

Softly crying, crying softly.
