Theresa Allen

How dare you.

The slap of cold, blue, steel bricks slapping slabs of ice,
The searing heat of a butcherís knife
Paring feathered flesh from dry, brittle bone.

Adding insult to injury.

When you say, "Itís the best for you,"
Donít kid yourself.
Iím not fooled.
Itís really the best for you
And has nothing whatsoever in common
With whatís in my best interest.
