A Nightmare Impacted the World

by

Tiffany Alfonso

I had a nightmare and it's not your average one, too. It was a nightmare that already impacted almost all the neighborhoods in America and eventually the whole world. Sy Miller and Jill Jackson quoted the two beginning lines of their song, "Let There Be Peace on Earth," but I'm afraid they're incompletely erroneous. I had a dream explaining why most peace songs and hymns are partially misleading.

In my dream, one of my cousins drove me to relocate stuff from the past house to the new one. As we traveled to what distinguishes the real Interstate 75 from the one in my nocturnal reverie, the nightmare began when we voyaged to the wrong exit. I didn't know why I replaced my cousin's location behind the wheel, but it's my duty to take over. While venturing down the street, I encountered a neighborhood next to a bridge that intersects it, with cars blocking their way. I observed a teenager who had recently kidnapped a five year old girl and he looked like a wasted rap idol. I backed off the dangerous neighborhood and I woke up with a start at about ten before four in the morning.

Every year, oodles of children and teens were caught in the crossfire of crimes. According to one 1985 public service announcement (PSA), as many as sixty children are being victims of kidnappings or runaways. That's almost the equivalent of 20,000 children a year in America, nearly equal to the 1990 population of Naples, FL, wiped out of the face of the earth. Unfortunately, my nightmare already came true and I decided to take action to end this scheme.

Together with today's peacemakers, the Blessed Queen of the Universe, St. Francis, and the omniscient God, we will collaborate to stop the transform from my nightmare to dreadful reality. I want to arrange a hymn for strings to accompany a new crime prevention PSA hosted by the Ad Council, the National Crime Prevention Council, and the US Department of Justice. I want all communities in America and abroad to host neighborhood watches so peace will return to the world. Education to children and other populace about crime prevention will work wonders, too. If all of those procedures are completed, adults and children should sing with new meaning all the peace song and hymns in harmony. The power of tranquility shall return to the world if we rally all populations. The worldwide neighborhoods' fate is in your hands, so protect them with faith!
